Here's how enroll in our California
traffic school:
- Go to our traffic school
SIGN UP page.
- Enter your driver's license number.
- Enter a valid email address.
- Select the court that issued your citation.
If you're not sure what county you received your
citation in, please refer to the traffic school papers sent
to you by the court.
You can make a payment at any time
by logging into your course and
selecting the "Pay Now" button.

What is my "customer ID?"
Your customer ID is your driver's
license number.
Our secure course delivery system
creates a unique Customer ID based on your driver's license
number. This "authenticates" you as a new student. This number
is unique for each student at Open Traffic School. We do not
need the state where your license was issued. If you enter that
information, your certificate of completion will print improperly.
Please have your Customer ID/driver's
license number available when accessing your Open Traffic School
course or contacting our customer support representatives.
Why am I being asked
for personal information?
Once you have signed up for the course
you will be asked several security questions. You will be asked
these questions randomly throughout the traffic safety course.
You must answer these questions exactly as you did when you
signed up for the course, or your course instruction will be
interrupted until answered properly.
How do I start
the traffic school for the first time? Or, how do I pick up where
I left off?
Once signed up,
you can come back at any time and from any computer with a standard
Web browser and an Internet connection. If you log on from the
same computer, our dynamic delivery system will recognize you
and keep track of where you left off in the course. Remember,
you must register and make a payment before proceeding to the
final exam.
I've completed all
5 chapters and passed each chapter quiz. How do I take the final
exam?
You must first pay for your traffic
school course before proceeding to the final exam. Some counties
require that you take the exam in person. For information on
your county, please visit our approved
counties page.
How much does your California
traffic school cost?
Price: $24.95
This price includes free online
and live telephone support and delivery of your
certificate
of completion.

How do I take the final
exam?
To Take the Final Exam:
- Pay the required fee.
- The system will return you to the syllabus.
- Click on "Final Exam" in the middle of your screen (You
must have finished all of the chapter exams before you will
be able to take the final exam and the link will appear).
If you received your citation in
Kern, Kings,
San Bernardino, or San Diego county , you are required to
confirm your identity for the final exam.
All other counties allow
online testing for the final exam.
My county requires identity
verification, Where are your approved testing centers?
The following counties require identity
verification while taking the final exam:
- Kern
- Kings
- San Bernardino
- San Diego

You must make a payment and "pass"
all of the chapters and quizzes before you will be allowed to
take the final exam.
When will I get my certificate
of completion?
Once you have completed and paid
for the course, your certificate of completion will be generated.
California courts have various requirements for receipt of the
certificate of completion.
If Open Traffic School mails your
certificate of completion to you, please allow 7-10 business
days for delivery. If you require your completion certificate
quickly, please select one of our express
delivery options.
What is Express Delivery?
